Inspired by Martyn’s briefcase. Made from Hard maple, peruvian walnut, and the handle is zebra wood. Brass hardware and lined with some fabric that I thought would look nice. I really like how it turned out. Though I feel as something is missing. If you know please share. The decorative dovetails were a last minute decision to do before assembly started. It is a fairy large case at 18×24 but I’m a fairly large guy. The maple is six panels for each side. Cut in half from 3/4 and then planed to 3/16 then bookmatched and joined. Thanks for looking.

Needs a couple of interior dividers in the lid. That what you thought was missing?

How sweet it is! Nice project and contrasting woods with colorful fabric inside! Next time, I suggest you use a lighter color background.

Can you tell us how much it weighs (empty)?

Now that is something a bit special. Love the dovetails into the sides. The lively inside really goes well too.
Thanks for the mention and for posting, Edward.

Depending on the weight of the case and the weight of the cargo, I’d be afraid of the grain direction in the handle.

Beyond that, the wood looks beautiful and the joinery looks like it takes skill.
