A very early project of mine was a litter box to match our bathroom cabinets (and bathroom for that matter). It was also my first set of raised panel doors. Lesson learned: don’t use crappy raised panel router bits unless you like sanding. This piece was also made before I took into account grain pattern, which is obvious in the large plywood walls in between solid wood (another thing I don’t do anymore). The stain is a nice General American Oak gen stain and I’m a big fan.
The drawers are exactly the height necessary to hold toilette paper rolls, and the cat door is big enough to let in the small cat but small enough to limit access to the big cat (he doesn’t like to share). This piece was a huge learning tool from a woodworking stand point. I wouldn’t call it fine furniture but it matches the cabinets well and does it’s job. All in all fun project.
