Basement Shelves

When my wife and I were finishing our basement, she asked if she could design some shelves for under the stairs. The design she came up with she marked out in green tape which I then began working to match with some 1×12 pine. After a dry fit, I spread the pieces out all around the basement propped up on Dixie cups to stain and finish both sides. The stain and finish expanded the wood enough that my dados were extremely tight and I didn’t end up using any glue in the final assembly.

Looks like a great fit! Nice way to use that space.

Clever build, and a good use of space.

Good use of space and clever idea with the green tape.

Great build. It’s always nice when the wife gets involved in a project that she wants you to build.

Looks great. This reminds me I need to work on my own under stair storage project.

That is one heck of a good use of what normally is dead space.

Have your say...
