This last weekend I made 3 mallets using the leftover hardwood lumber I had from old projects. For some reason I’d never made a mallet before. Great use of left over pieces. I don’t think they will probably smash anything in my shop. They came out too pretty.

Mallet no 1: I used laminated Padauk for the mallet head with an oak handle. Made a quick cnc pattern based loosely on Thor’s hammer. So calling this one Thor’s Mallet.

Mallet no 2: African Mahogany with an oak handle

Mallet no 3: Purpleheart with beech handle

Very nice mallets! Your right, they are too pretty to pound anything!

Thank you. I really like that these are really quick to make. I do have a hunk of oak drying that may actually make a usable mallet. Might have to take the chainsaw to it this weekend.
