This is a window seat I just finished this afternoon. I made it out of 3/4” birch plywood and painted it with oil base. The construction I used is to cut a rectangle lid, then essentially wrap it with 5” wide strips of plywood to give it an even look. The pieces on either side of the lid are attached to the back piece by using pocket screws. I put a trim piece on the front to cover the plywood edges. The only trouble I am having is attaching a safety hinge so nobody pinches their fingers. I will add that later, when I figure out how to add it. The inside has a birch panel bottom, because I had some leftover pieces. THen I put standard 3.25” trim inside to hide the drywall. The top and front are mounted to studs. I still need to do a little touchup with paint. My mom is going to make a cushion to go on it. THanks for looking at my project. I really enjoyed this and it has really turned out better than expected.
