I needed to build a business card holder as a gift, but decided to experiment a little with different kinds of wood, so I ended up building ten out of scraps, and find the best looking combinations.

I ended up with these wood combinations:
- walnut – jatoba;
- mahogany – sapele;
- cherry – batu;
- cherry – walnut;
- cherry – sapele;
- maple – mahogany;
oak – sapele;
read oak – cherry;
alder – walnut.

Miter joints are enforced with a dowel made from bamboo skewer, same dowel protrudes into the base. The finish is teak oil.

The design is inspired by Rance, JayT and Mark Gipson's projects.

This is a nice attractive card holder.
