Edison Lamp dovetail box

I wanted to tackle my first Edison lamp box using a dovetailing jig that had adjustable fingers.
I made the sides from African Mahogany and the front, back and top from White Oak.

The inside is all electrically double insulated with all the connections housed within their own PVC box.
A switch for each individual light and a universal dimmer to get just the right brightness required.

I was surprised how much heat the old style of bulbs throw out, but a really lovely warm hue too.

Here is a links list of the parts used if you wanted to fill your own Edison lamp box with the goodies:

That’s a great looking Edison lamp! I love these bulbs and the glow of them—to me, this is the way a bulb should shine, not these electronic bulbs today.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy it every time you have them lit!

Thanks for the welcome Charles and also thanks for all the kind works on the Edison lamp.
Had a great time making this and your right Ivan: Engineering and Woodworking is a choice mix.
Dean I agree – the harsh new bulbs today can be fatiguing for the eyes.
