yikes. that’s nicer than my first bed by a long shot! really nice work. is that hard or soft maple? also, is the pull-out attached in any way to the main frame?

Thanks! The maple is hard maple. I pulled it out of a friend’s barn. The curl in it is just unbelievable. The pictures don’t do it justice. The pullout trundle bed is not attached to the frame. Didn’t see any need to. The casters don’t swivel, so it pulls in and out pretty straight.

Great job on the trundle bed. I did not attach the trundle on mine either. I planned to use casters on mine but after I built I couldn’t find a mattress to fit so I ended up putting plastic glides on the bottom. Would have preferred casters but this works.

Very nice! Now can you make a Queen size one for me? I’d need the drawers to be in two parts, pulling out on each side of the bed. This is a beauty!
