In this video I will be making this wooden box. It’s made from cherry and is constructed using box joints. It has a sliding dove-tail lid allowing access to the inside of the box. Please see the full YouTube Video if you want to see all the steps I did to make it!
Hope you enjoy the video.

Great design. I don’t like putting metal hinges on my boxes but never came up with a good simple all wood design.

This is a beautiful box and the wood is wonderful.

JJ, I like your design. The sliding lid is a good choice. I like the way it tucks under the top. I may have made the top a bit thicker, but what you have is attractive and works well. The finger joints are certainly strong and historically they work well with candle boxes. The cherry is beautiful. Thanks for sharing your work with us. Keep boxing and keep posting.
