Platform Bed - Plans by Workbench

This was pretty simple. I used the following plans from Workbench… http://www.workbenchmagazine.com/main/wb309-bed01.html . I didn’t follow the plans exactly. Obviously, I added drawers but I also changed the assembly method. The corner brackets recommended in the plans felt sloppy so I made something a little more solid. In the first picture is my useless machine. It’s…. useless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68iOqVdM0bc&feature=player_embedded Those plans can be found here… http://www.instructables.com/id/The-Most-Useless-Machine/

Very well done.
I agree, it is boring when You follow the plans exactly, no creativity.
Thanks for sharing with us and welcome to Lumberjocks community.

Wow, I don’t like how these digital HD cameras expose all my flaws. Where’s the soft filter lens button?

Hi,
I’m about to build the same bed. Do you have any advice?

Yeah, the plans call for fir slats. I couldn’t find fir slats so I used pine slats. The pine slats were too weak and I had to reinforce them. They are “T” shaped slats now.

Second, be prepared for bruises on your Shins. I run into the wide edge of my bed about once a week. I love this bed but we have a bitter sweet relationship.
