Project Information

While we were doing our remodel we started using an old firepit to burn trash and scrap wood. One day I made the mistake of saying that I thought we could cook on it. The next day my wife produced a grate and with a couple of well placed pieces of rebar we were in business. Over he course of the next few months we enjoyed many evenings around our "*********************************** Grill". Naturally we couldn't be satisfied with something simple, so viola "Roy's *********************************** Grill". There is running water, gas and electricity to the counter. I also put gas and compressed air to the firepit.

Not bad for a ***********************************! That's a really nice setup. What did you use for the top, looks like thick large sizefloor tile. I have a similar project going on now. Hope it turns out as nice.

18" ceramic floor tile, with decorative inserts to match the sink. BTW after looking for a premade firepit that was what I wanted, and being shocked by the prices, my buddy Rick56 helped me fabricate the metal portion of the firepit. Total cost $35.00.

I have to say, I have an outdoor kitchen similar to your grilling island and I couldn't imagine my life without it. you will make many memories out there!
