I finally finished three walnut floating shelves to go with my TV console I built a couple of months ago. The shelves are 15”, 15”, and 45”, made from 3/4 walnut with French cleats attached to the wall
The console is 100% walnut including the door handles, the joints are all mortise and tenon and the top is attached with table top clips to allow for movement
The doors are all sequence matched from a nice chunk of walnut, the stiles and rails are all sequence matched and the back and side panels are book matched
Everything was finished with “dark walnut” danish oil with several coats of satin poly
This was my first chance at designing and building a piece of furniture, it was challenging but fun!
Thanks for looking!
