Trays with double mitered box joints

I got this idea from the Woodsmith tv show. It seemed so simple, my 3rd try, the first picture was as close as I got to the goal. I kept cutting the joints wrong using their method so I used my incra jig. The fourth picture is what mine are supposed to look like. I kept trying to get the joints right till the tray got smaller and smaller. I doubt I try to make any more of these. The wood is walnut sapwood stained with early American from minwax.

Jerry, really like the trays can you share some more info on how to make the joints?
