This was a sad project. My daughter’s 4 year old hound (Beau) developed an aggressive and inoperable brain turmor. Maddie asked me to make a memorial box for his ashes. The top is closed and the bottom slides open. I used blackwood because it has most of his coloring. He was a handsome and sweet dog.

I’m sorry for your Daughter’s loss. However, it is a wonderful memorial box for Beau. Nice work!

Arthur, beautiful dog, beautiful box. Nice design and great touches such as the picture, hardware, bottom design, corner splines. Fitting memorial, and a step forward in your techniques. Thanks for sharing your work and your story.

what a wonderful piece, I am sorry for your loss, sadly my little buddy of 17 years passed some time back but we had a long time to love on him and I have put off making a memorial box to keep his ashes in, you inspired me to make it so that we can remember him like you will remember your handsome and I’m sure very loved little buddy. my condolences to you and your daughter.

Thanks for your kind words Gabe. While it is a sad project, making it does help to give some closure.
