Blackwood and Glass Tea Caddie

My wife, being a proper tea snob, told me she needed a tea caddie to store her stash. I made this one using blackwood and a glass top. Inlaid bubinga “bisquits” in the corners of the top for added strength and cut the base out using a scroll saw. I must say the teas make it really smell nice inside!

Arthur, this looks like it will do the job. I had expected to see the tea in some type of tins to seal it up. The corner splines are a good idea to strengthen the lid. A stop chain might take some of the strain off the hinges when the box is opened. Thanks for sharing your work with us. Keep boxing and keep posting.
