Storage bench table

This project started out being a shoe bench for the mud room, but after getting a new dog that likes to carry out shoes through the doggie door I had to change it. It sits fairly high to accommodate all the shoes that were going to go inside so I will use it for a small table for the living room and store blankets in it. I was going to build a blanket chest to store all of the blankets my kids like to leave around, but this will work nicely. It’s made from poplar with red oak panels finished with gel stain and wipe on poly.

that’s a great looking cabinet. I can see lots of uses for it.

Great finish and design. If this is project number 2 as I read I guess you are learning a lot. Keep it up. Nice large workbench in the photo also, since I had to sell mine I am on the look out for simple ideas. any comment appreciated.
