Cedar table and benches

Last summer I was asked to make a cedar table and a couple of benches based off a table design likely from Pinterest. Not a whole lot to say about the project, except that it’s all made with floating tenons and it was a cinch with the jig I made for my router. Took some time to make the jig, but it was well worth it.

Those 24 slats for the benches in the second last picture took less than 30 mins to mortise out both ends. Pretty sweet.

One of the benches hadn’t yet received the linseed oil treatment in the first two pics, hence the difference in color.

This is a very nice set of table and benches. It looks great on that patio.

Nice project and should serve you well.

Is it possible to get a look at the jig used.
Thanks in advance.

It’s the jig from Popular Woodworking’s The Ultimate Guide to Loose Tenon Joinery

I had to build a stout riser for the jig to accommodate for the longer pieces

Thanks much appreciated!
I remember building a bed and having fun trying to get the end finished
Long projects really add to the problem solving equation.

Thanks for fixing the picture…on my phone it’s not rotated on its side. Strange.

I figured building a riser was easier than digging a hole in the floor…

Had to use the table for my cabinet saw instead of my bench because my air cleaner is right above the bench and wouldn’t permit the height. Oh, how I love having a small shop! /sarc

On my bed I had to go side ways or cut a hole in the roof so your picture looked right for my build. LOL
