This is the first piece of furniture I ever designed and built. There were no plans or guidelines other than it had to fit our blue recycling bin and provide a place for a lamp and drink. It ended up a little boxy but not bad for my first project. It’s HD plywood with poplar trim., and painted with flat latex paint The box is joined with biscuits and pocket screws. It’s a great way to store the ugly recycling box and its contents. I’ve submitted this to a bunch of magazines as a “basic” project for beginners but I haven’t got any bites yet. If anyone has a hook up, please hook a brotha up.

Enjoy.

Cool project! I think it looks good and it does double duty, you can’t beat that!
Great Job and thanks for sharing.
