Very nice, I have some cedar planter boxes I made for some gardening this summer, but now that I’m moving I dont need them, thanks for the great idea for a use for them…

We also made a couple boxes for outside, using the cedar. One is a storage box in the gazebo for stuff and the other we turned into a cooler by attaching styrofoam insultation sheets to the inside. The first time we used it, we put two bags of ice in it on Sunday and there was still pieces of ice floating in water on Wednesday. It was located on the west side of the house so it was sitting in the sun part of the day as well. Good cooler!!

—-yes, I like those benches! From the pictures you have posted they seem to be much sought after, judging by how well they have worn themselves. The curvature that you have instilled into the seat is an added touch of artistic woodworking ability.

Ah yes, I like what you have said here; “my journey” and then your journey into ‘woodworking’. However I think that there is more to you as you talk aslo about being a ‘life guide’ and of the passion that life brings forth. You have said: ”I am in awe of the possibilities that lie before us.” Yes, you are so much right, the first step is believing in ones own self and the unlimited possibilities of opportunties that lie just outside ones unopened door. Open the door and step out into the light of a new day, never looking back, where the dreams of ones imagination become the reality of each and every day.

—-the connection is as already is in the joining, so come along!

We are what we are, as already connected, so now we go on. This is like saying; “can I, will I and yes you may”, ‘the process’ is in the journey as we saunter in the woods and then one day we remember that we really went no-place as we already are one with the all.

Just like those benches, did my connection to the bench begin before, during or after and can my remembered connection ever again be disconnected?

I like the way of sauntering in the words, of the poet as, ‘woods of the universe’ better….

I’m already entangled, as the words speak to who I am, how I think, and how I believe.

The following is a poem that my pen wrote back in 1998. I think my artistic expression is just an attempt to rediscover the understanding that I had for that brief moment

A glimmer of understanding
A wisp of awareness
A flash of light passes through me
and I know!
And then it is gone…..
What have I been told?
I can almost feel it…..
I almost understand….
And I wonder why I have been allowed to know
I wonder how many others have been shown this wonder
And I long to become aware.
Connecting the universe is an energy strong
It IS life… and it is more
We are here for a moment,
To explore, to learn, to test this 3-D world
Each trial, each joy, is but an experiment,
a learning experience to be used in another time
another space
that which is beyond our knowledge and understanding
that which is life itself
Is this what I felt?
Was this the lesson I was shown so briefly
I want the moment back
I want to understand
and yet…. I know
That THIS is life
Searching, seeking, learning.

nice benches…and nice words…the banter is fun to watch…and art unto itself…amazing how we get led to places…these words were posted back in january…I havent read any other comments on the other benches…but on this something told me to scroll down and see…only to find more fine work and some great words…peace.

when I clicked on the “new messages” link I didn’t look to see what the project was or who was the person who posted it. Reading Matt’s words about benches I thought they were Dick’s. What a surprise I had when I scrolled up and saw MY benches!!!

Yes, there sure is a lot of stuff hidden in the conversations about projects and blogs etc. It makes it really difficult to pass anything by; You just never know what you might be missing.

Dick, re: sauna, that’s pretty much how I feel every time I look at them and sit on them. I love our benches.
