This is another creation from our shop. We like to call this one the Marco Platform bed. I built this in November 2017.

I have built the Marco headboard several times before, but this customer wanted something slightly different. I sent them a couple drawings in which we changed the arch a little and they liked the 7-inch drop better. I also did a custom spacing of the beadboard V-grooves. I did a double line about every 4 inches.

On the platform, instead of doing a flat platform as I normally build, I built a small frame to go around the MDF platform. The frame gives the bed a slightly different look.

The drawer pedestal is a 14” high. Normally I build this with three drawers on each side. For this customer, the drawer at the head of each side was eliminated because the customer wanted to use a nightstand that would interfere.

On the drawers, they wanted to upgrade to the full extension ball bearing rails. This gives a full 18” of travel. There are also identical drawers on the other side not shown in the pictures. At the foot of the bed, I added a60-inch long drawer that pulls out.

Realy like that bed – like from fairy tale. Very good drawers layout.
