This is a Christmas present for my father in law who was in the Air Force. The Air Force Emblem was made from dyed wood Blue Birch, White Ash & Red Oak soaked in a vacuum Chamber & then a pressure pot Back & forth about 3 time while keeping the wood submerged. Pieces are then dried, trimmed & glued. I used a router to cut the shape (No lathe). Finished with a salad bowl finish. I think he was happy? It measured 10 inch diameter x 1.5 deep.

Very nicely done. Never heard of the coloring method before.
