This piece is made out of solid beech. It uses mortise and tendon joinery. I used a dark walnut stain. The final shine was produced applying a furniture wax. The drawer face is a solid piece of Walnut.

Interesting. To me beech resembles oak. The dark walnut stain really makes it look like oak even more.
I like beech more than oak, seems more stable and I like that it’s closed grained.

reminds me of the walnut table I made for my daughter. I love the drawer and the sturdy appearance of the table!
