The pool side deck was in need of a rebuild. This was my first deck I’ve tackled on my own. I wanted to do something different from the traditional straight boards on the top and opted for this pattern. Overall it turned out great!

Note: The right hand post was left taller to accommodate a hanging basket. I’m tall and was tired of bumping into the basket all the time on the old deck!

Very nice work! I particularly like the 45 Degree Planks and Framing them.I think that affect is much nicer than doing the entire deck at a 45.

Nice deck. I like the use of gussets to keep it from ever wiggling. Do you have a hand rail planned for the steps?
