Latest project is a “Collector’s Showcase” for my Brother In-law. He is an avid watch collector. The design is by Craig Bentzley and was illustrated in the April/May 2010 editin if Woodcraft Magazine. I stayed pretty close to Mr. Bentzley’s design. The case is cherry, the side and back panels in Quilted Maple veneer, and the drawer fronts are Culry Maple. The drawer cases are maple. The panels (side and back) and the drawer fronts are dyed amber. All outside surfaces have three coats of garnet shellac and three coats of satin laquer. The drawer insides are finished with a burgandy baize and the dividers are cherry. Great project. Thanks for looking.

That is just about perfect for my rocks and minerals collection!!! I have been looking for a pattern. Can you tell me how big it is?

Beautiful wood and a great job!

That is just an incredible showcase.
The maple is beautiful.
The drawers are spectacular.
Your Bro-in-law is very lucky to be able to get a piece like this. I am sure he will use it proudly.

Very nice indeed. I like the dividers so even and sharp, (I tried making dividers for my projects but I haven’t quite got the knack at it). I like the display case on the top. Overall it is pleasing to the eye. Also great job on the poker chip box and blanket chest.

I’d be looking at the case more than the collectibles. Great work, the craftsmanship pours out of this project!
