Hello there fellows LJ’s
This is my first attempt at carving a cane. Made of red oak with a touch of ebony in the neck and painted in oil then finished with glossy poly varnish.
Feel free to comment, meanwhile the wood spirit wishes for all of you, health, peace, safety in the shop for the New Year to come and hugs and kisses to your love ones.

Great job, but I warn you – making canes can be addictive. The Spirit of the Wood will have you seeing canes in every branch and root. Thanks for posting and best wishes for a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.
