I made this small cherry side table for a sitting area in our kitchen that my wife is setting up. Its 14×22 1/2 inches and stands 26 inches tall. The shelf is about 9 inches below top.

Everything is constructed from 3/4” material, with the legs glued up from 2 boards. The legs have a small taper down to 1” at the bottom, and are attached to the aprons using dowel joints. The top and shelf are attached using table top clips.

I pre-finished the pieces before assembly because I wouldn’t have been able to get the shelf installed after the glue-up. The frame as 4 coats of wipe-on-poly, and I applied 5 coats to the top and shelf.
