First of all, thanks to poospleasures for the inspiration and help in making this knife. One of my favorite knives of all time is the Case Sidewinder. I really like the fact that the locking mechanism is actually the Case emblem on the side. I wanted to make one so my boy could see how it works. However, he was anxious as I was making this the last couple of days, and I couldn’t get the spring right, so the locking mechanism doesn’t work on this first prototype. It also doesn’t “talk to me” like I wanted it to when opening and closing, as there is too much friction in the pin. Poospleasures pointed all of the areas of concern when trying to get these to work out right, and he was on the money. Hopefully I’ll improve with my next one. This one is made out of walnut and maple.

Your knife looks great. Thanks for the words. Do not give up the tries. I have been doing this a long time and have had a lot of experiences with wooden knife making. I love your design. Keep at it and make some more and just try to fix tiny stuff each time. Please keep in touch as maybe we can help each other.
