I saw a You Tube video for this peel on Woodworker’s Journal and it got my interest. We have a friend who has a shop, however it’s a professional kitchen where he cooks all the family meals. What better place for a pizza peel.
It was a fun project and didn’t take much time.
The peel is hickory and walnut planed to 1/2” and the front edge tapers to 1/8”. The overall dimension is 15”X24”.
I finished it with several coats of food grade mineral oil.

a really neat project – one that I would never attempt, last time I used a hand plane was 57 years ago in high school

Nice, I like the solid color of the hickory.

Below is what I made for the first time.

Yeah Dick, I think I spent more time sharpening my hand plane then making the peel.

RAP, I like yours with the stripes also. Nice job.
