This sleigh was a team effort. I milled the lumber and cut out the runners, My friend engineered it and put it all together in anticipation of his Children and grand kids coming home for Christmas. I thought you would enjoy seeing the finished project, and a video of how well it works. I went over today to take some video footage and froze my fingers on a demo ride. Sunny but minus 20 Centigrade.

Here are a few pictures under construction. quite basic, and reinforced with metal, plastic runners

Cross chains allow the back runners to also steer

Ready for paint, red of course, Just what SANTA ordered

Thanks for looking, winter is not over in the northern Hemisphere yet, there is still time to make one and those in the south can be ready when your winter comes.

Here is a link to a 5 minute video with photo’s. See it in action.

It’s red, it’ll surely go fast…

BUT you poor friend looks like he was caught in a blizzard…..

Way too cold for me and our moderate 35deg”C” today….

Keep warm Brian!!

I love it but I hate the cold! I would install heated pipes under it! Lol. Nice job! PS: I could transport alot of wood with that!

Nice team effort. Always wanted to take a sleigh ride. If it was a bit warmer I would join you.
It use to be a one horse open sleigh, this must be a modern version with the snowmobile. LOL.

What a lovely bit of work. Brings back many memories when I was a kid on the farm! Only minor disappointment, could you have installed some seats to sit on?!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
