Had a big pile of exotic scraps—and a single wide board of cherry—that was kicking around. Also, I was trying to avoid working on a large project that’s been dogging me for a while. Anyhow, here are some quickies. The trivets are finished with mineral oil and the chair tray is shellac.

Does the chair tray just balance on the chairs arms? Looks like something I could use, just wonder how it would stay put. I like calling the cutting boards trivets, as many as I have made, and never thought to use them as such. Thanks for the idea.

Yup, just rests on the arms.

The trivets are only about 7×7 inches… so not really big enough to consider as a cutting board. Literally made with scrap wood to see how it would come out. Not bad!

These look great and trivets are always useful.
