Serving tray for my daughter

It’s been awhile since I posted anything I’ve built. My daughter, Olivia, has always been jealous because mom has her own serving tray that I bring her meals occasionally. I decided to build her, her own super duper serving tray.

Its made of mahogany finger joints reinforced with walnut dowels. The handle wrapping is thin jute. The piece is finished in danish oil with shellac.

The name on the front was my first stab at wood burning. I’m pretty happy with it and my daughter LOVES it so that’s all that matters at the end of the day. Merry Christmas Doots!!!

Lots of neat features! The jute is a really nice touch and the burning really personalizes it.

I love serving trays. And this one already looks like an antique (Meant as a real compliment). It is truly lovely.
