Again my favourite wood for chip carving, Lime (Basswood). The contrast between the carving and the face of the wood is provided by a product Gel Stain, very difficult to source in the UK but I have finally managed to find a supplier who imports from the USA.

Great looking sign, I like everything about it – the shape, contrast and the sharp carving. Good stuff.

A great sign. Why is the gel stain not available in the UK.
