LJs,

I realized that I have spent more time enjoying the projects I have been doing, and less time documenting them, than I should have. Now that I am on deployment I took the time and went back through some old pics on my FB account and downloaded them so I could post them as the weeks ad months pass by.

First project is my new assembly/outfeed table.

Having moved from a 12×16 foot shed to a two car garage I needed a new assembly table. I built this by combining a few different versions online. I ended up with a torsion box with 2 inch ribs wrapped in 3/4 plywood. The legs are three 2×4s, glued and planed together, with a shelf on the bottom for storage and some huge casters that let me slide it over to the new SawStop PCS for use as an outfeed table. The top is only attached in few places to help with stability and allow me to change it out if it needed. I topped it with a piece of melamine that I picked up at a local distributor for less than $10.

The old on is also pictured. It folded up to get out of the way to make sure I had room to move and work in the old shop/shed. This was a great table for the 5 years that I used it.

Looks good and sturdy. Should be a real asset in your shop. Woodworking and serving your country, nothing better than that!

MASSIVE outfeed/assembly table. doesn’t look like a little weight will slow that thing down, nice job.

Beautifully done, and it looks like you’ll be getting some good use out of this table for some time to come.
Now you’ve got a suitable spot to use all of those clamps.
Enjoy it.
