I lived in Moscow, Russia for a couple Christmas seasons. The Russian people adore their Santa Clause ,
Санта Клаус. I filled in as Santa several times and sat beside their Santa at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow where 100’s of kids passed across our laps. Russian and American. As you see he does not wear the bright red suit, but a blue suit. Ded Moroz, as we pronounce it, spreads good will along with his granddaughter Snegurochka who wears a gown of white and blue. The last picture is my wife, Betty and I near Red Square at Christmas 2014, big ice skating rink there and huge ice sculptures.

Excellent carving and a great story to go with it.

Cozy well done carving. Reminds me of Elvis and his Blue Christmas. I liked the shot with your lovely wife too.

It was such Nice work I checked out some of your other work too!

A bit of a supporting story
I spent a Christmas in Russian particapating in the Siberian Ice marathon
I went from 30c here in Queensland to some days -30c in Omsk and Moscow

I think when I went outside I had worked out that I had 20 minutes to explore then find shelter quick

One of the only times I ever had ever had a seigh ride.

Thanks all. I made so many Santa’s over the years. But, being a Santa myself helps.
