This was inspired by 2 LumberJocks contributors, Max and Dan. I have always been a big fan of the Arts and Crafts and Mission styles. When I first became a member of LumberJocks, two of the first members whose projects inspired me were Max and Dan. That was the first time that I had seen framed tiles. I really liked them. I found a gentleman here in St. Louis that was doing ceramic tiles, Ken of “Fishing Creek Studios”. I contacted him and purchased several of his tiles. This particular tile is of barley, it was one of a series done for AB.
I hope Max and Dan find this a fitting homage to their work or as I call it in the Manx Style.

Ron,
That is one great looking framed tile. I like your design of the frame, the crest is very nice. Thank you for the compliment on being an inspiration. I am going to have to see if I can find “Fishing Creek Studios” web site.

Nice looking frame and tile. I think that Dan actually makes the tiles and sells them too – might want to try some of his tiles.

It is funny, when I saw your thumb nail photo, I thought, boy Dan is at it again.
Great project, and I am warmed to see you give the credit to Max and Dan for their inspiration.
