I made this pizza peel out of walnut so that I can slice the pizza on the board. A lot of the boards that are sold in stores are made out of softer woods that don’t hold up to sharp knifes making cuts on them.

I was just telling my bride last weekend we needed one of these. I promised her I would make her one. I hope it comes out half as nice as this one. Thanks for sharing Megan….

Very nice project! Welcome to Lumberjocks.
One fair warning, if you use this site very often you will become addicted to it.
Great Job and thanks for sharing.

Oh by the way, next time please include a picture of the pizza.
I have a scratch and sniff monitor. LOL

Nice board. How thick is it. I also want to make one but was thinking that 3/4 is to heavy.

A great little project, and a useful one too.

Have you, or are you going to put any sort of finish on this?

What are your dimensions for this pizza peel?

It is 1/4” thick. They were scrap that my brother-in-law gave me.

I wanted to make one 1/4 to 3/8 thickness but was afraid of warping. I guess I will give it a go. Thanks for the info.

Have your say...
