Full-sized, Western-style Cedar Boots - wood source, hydro post!

I was asked to carve a full-sized cowboy boot. The hydro post my client provided was quite substantial but I feared that a man’s boot would have too much toe wood and my diameter of the post was limited.
So I got my wife’s boots and made a pattern. She purchased these beautiful pony leather boots at Cheyenne, Wyoming over 20 years ago. The pattern just fit the log diameter and the carving began.
Natural finish with mahogany wood used for the pull up straps.
