Yup, yet another cutting board, this time for my high school era friend, James. Hopefully, this will add some nice appeal to his builtin bar in his newer-to-him house. The missus took a nice video of this board which really shows off the chatoyance in all of the various woods used, bit unfortunately, I don’t seem to be able to upload that here.
We shall see what James thinks about this board, I hope to have it in his hands in the next few days.
We’re just trying to decide whether to install little rubber feet or not. [FWIW, I am voting against the feet, as IMO both sides of the board have unique appeal and character. But, it’s up to my client for the final decision…]
As always, the project is finished with multiple coats of Howard’s Butcher Block Conditioner, a blend of mineral oil and beeswax.

Nice board Wayne. What type of woods did you use?

Wood shows quite a bit of figure. If the pictures don’t show all the chatoyance, it must be beautiful indeed.

@grace123 – thanks so much! Yes, the video really exposes a lot more figuring. I’ve been really lucky to get the cutoffs from a cabinet show which uses some incredible woods, and at a crazy great deal, too!

@Dave Smith – I think I mis-tagged the project a bit wrto woods used. Obviously Maple [Birdseye, certainly, and then either Tiger or Curly]. I believe the 3 dark smaller stripes are Walnut, Cherry, and possibly something else. The large dark stripe is either Bubinga or Mahogany.

Wow!! Nice to see the cutting board here the James was asking for. From the picture it is clear that the cutting board was made in a nice manner. Is more designs of the cutting boards are available here? If yes, please update more designs here. troubleshooting printer issues
