My daughter saw a vase like this online,so I decided to make one for her.

It was very simple

I went to the dollar store and bought approximately 20 boxes of color pencils and a plastic pitcher. I packed the pencils into the pitcher as tight as possible, then poured resin into it to fill in the gaps.

If you are going to try this, make sure you tap the pitcher on a hard surface to get all the air bubbles out.

After it cured over night, I put it on the large and turned it.

Like I said, simple.

Those epoxided pencil vases always look like real fun to make, very nice turning.

That is a cool looking piece. How did you hold it on the lathe after you broke the pitcher away?

Cheers, Jim
