I made this table for my 1st Sergeant who retired after 29 years of military service in the USAF. Although this took a while to make, it was well worth the time and effort. It is made of red oak 1X material and oak ply finished with a few coats of minwax classic oak stain. This is a project I hope he will keep for many years to come.
Thanks for looking

I have a Gunnery Sergeant retiring in early 2011 and hadn’t quite figured what I wanted to do but now have a few ideas brewing thanks to your design. Awesome work.

Awesome job on the table look really good. I been wanting to make something to put all my medals in but have not decided if it going to be a shadow box or small table. Superb work.

That is a great looking table. The drawer pull is a nice touch. Haven’t seen the two versions of E-4 in a while. Thanks for the post.

I love this! What a great idea. It’s just a touch nicer than a shadow box or a frame. Nice work.

Woody1492,
My husband and I are getting ready to retire from the Air Force and are considering the table shadow box you built for your First Sergeant. It is absolutely amazing and think it is a great idea! By chance do you have dimensional plans for this that I could get from you? If so I can give you my E-Mail address and maybe I can take the plans to someone who said they’d build them for us.

A friend of mine has asked me to build something to put her fathers burial flag, picture of his ship and decorations in. This has motivated me to build something for my Grandfathers flag and decorations. They say copying is the best form of flattery. Please be extremely flattered, this is a very impressive project.
