The box has no bottom and sits on a glass shelf, so there is an outdoor view inside the box.

Various unstained hardwoods.

Coopered lid in Birdseye maple

Inside imagery is Intarsia

Depicts a Northwest Coast tribal chief seeing the european ships on the horizon from his village.
