This was a set of doors I did out of solid black walnut each piece was 3’6” by 6’8”
the pieces were hand carved without the use of any power tools and hand burnished the color you see is the natural wood ..the tree was guessed to be over 325 yrs old , had major character was hand oiled with danish oil and let to dry they are now know as the Calder Doors because they won the Internationale Carving best in show in Florence Italy my proudest piece
hope you enjoy them they are of a group of monks at the great wall celebrating spring
