This is Dresser & Mirror set, (part of a 6 piece bedroom set) I built for my wife & I. I used ash as the main wood of choice for its nice grain patters and ability to stand up to the vacuum cleaner and other household hazzards that are just dying to put a dent into furniture.

Believe it or not, we got the design from Bobs Discount Furniture. We both liked the design, but wern’t too happy with the quality so I decided to build the set ourselves. After some photographs and simple measuring, I was ready to draw up some plans for eache piece. The entire 6 piece set took about a month to build and finish, and we were both extreamly happy with the results.

This is my dresser. If I had it all to do again, I would have made the bottom 2 drawers taller and made the top drawer shallower. But thus is life…

Dave,
You had a busy time making all of your furniture. They all look great. It is a nice feeling to look that them and know that you made it yourself and it was what you wanted. That is the best part of woodoring in my opinion.

Hi there jpc,

The inside is pretty straight forward. I used whatever stock I had around to build the drawer slide supports, pine, boxwood, etc.

When you attach the top, don’t forget to consider expansion if you used solid material.
