Cherry and walnut table top and bench

The wife wanted a rectangle table but I didn’t want to get rid of my grandmothers oval table so this was made to fit over the top of the oval.
Made from walnut and cherry with some old barn beams as the bench base.

Nice looking tabletop and bench.

Just wondering how you attached the breadboard (?) across the ends of the table top. If it’s glued on solid then you’ve probably created a “Panel of Doom” due to future wood movement across the width of the panel. Hope that’s not the case…
