Sphere shelf

Made the shelf from 1×4 lumber, and drew it on Autocad first. The shelf has the shape of a sphere pressed into the wall, so all the edges match the shell of the sphere. Each edge is curved in two directions.

Thanks! I just used small D-ring style flush hooks. It bumps the top of the shelf no more than 1/8” out from the wall compared to the bottom. I placed them at the upper corners, where its high enough that its hardly noticeable.

Yes, half-laps at the joints. I counter bored through the back and just used drywall screws. Some of the intersections were a little too deep, so I stacked some washers as required at each joint to make the front intersections flush.
