Today I completed everything I am goint to do to the entertainment center itself until after Thanksgiving. I finished the second coat of paint and put in the rockler shelf support inserts. Those of you with sharp eyes might note that I need a couple more bags. I’ll pick them up tomorrow after I finish cuttine and gluing up the shelves. After I paint the shelves I will be completely done (till I get around to doing the doors). I am also thinking of some sort of accent on the slabs over the book shelves. Any ideas?

Rob the entertainment center looks great – and really functional. It’s been an interesting journey.

That is one fancy looking entertainment center. I like the trim on the wall above the unit also. There’s going to be some great viewing in your home. A fire in the fireplace….some snacks….What time do you want us to be there?

Rob, awesome job. How about a double round over, with a small V grove down the center to give the shelves character? I see the picture frame trim above and it reminds me of the trim I have over my sofa and fireplace in the living room. I’ll post and again you have done a beautiful job.

shes lookin great rob ! a couple ideas for your slabs that come to my mind would be a couple nice onlays . i buy mine from enkaboll there a little pricey but really well done a cheaper co. is white river mouldings not quite as well finished so there may be a little sanding to do ill post a mantle on my project page and also i have an ent center on there that has a couple corner onlays on the slab above the t v . another idea is a couple picture boxes to match the ones on the wall above your unit you could even paint inside the boxes the color of your walls .

Beautiful job on the entertainment center. As far as enhancing the flat portions at the top, I was thinking along the same lines as Mr. Trim. Panel molding to compliment the panel molding above the unit. Some day I’ll figure out how to imbed a photo .
