This has been an adventure building this. I built this for my friend who is having a kid later this week. My friend wanted to help with this project so its been only on the week ends working on it. Started with rough sawn red oak. (Note to self trying to plane 11 inch oak boards is not fun with a craftsman planer.) overall not bad, finished it with red oak stain with a antique walnut Poly stain (not my choice). This plan also called to build a toddler day bed with it but we opted out of it. Not shown is the bed rails for it. The plans for this can be found at Woodstore.com Just a side note. we did modify these plans a little bit. the original plans call for a solid panel on the side but we went with slats all around. (another note to self BUY A MORTISE MACHINE)

Looks great, JP. If I may ask how did you cut the mortises without a mortise machine? I assume you don’t have a Domino or FMT.

Table saw with a dado blade. then glues in filler pieces between the slats. very time consuming

Nice looking crib. I too am finishing a crib for my daughter. Actually it’s similar to yours except I incorporated two drawers underneath it. And I like the slats all around better too instead of the solid panels. That’s how I did mine as well.
