This was my first furniture project before I had a clue about wood movement. Therefore, someday I expect the internal stresses will force the top to crack or split. It hasn’t happened yet but that is probably because in Arizona, it is either hot or really hot. ;)
The sofa table is constructed of solid black walnut and spalted pecan with ebony for the miter keys. The opposing aprons are bookmatched. The piece was finished with General Arm-R-Seal.

It is a great design. Remember that you can do designs like this if you use veneer, whether it is shop sawn or factory supply.
