Here’s my latest box creation I made as a gift for my neighbors. One is oak with walnut trim and the other is red spalted maple with walnut. I wanted to do something interesting on the lid and came up with the bottle and glass cutout idea using the walnut to contrast. I think they look ok but not quite the effect I was hoping for. I may try some wood burning sketch if I decide to make a few more. I used a wine color flocking on both and finished with 4 coats of GF oil.
