Finally completed kitchen shelving with a removable end-grain chopping block. It’s a nice addition to the kitchen given our limited countertop space. I plan on building a butcher block on the front side of the stove when I get around to it.
The chopping block, countertops and faceboards are all maple and the rest is birch ply. Mineral oil for the chopping block and just polyurethane for the rest. The only nails are in the back to reinforce the backs of the shelves, the shelves are held by dados and glue and i borrowed a buddy’s biscuit joiner for the faceboards. A fun project, learned lots with plenty of mistakes!
